Mousa Dembele dialed up a lifeline in the 90th minute to give Spurs the needed one all draw at French sides house. Dembele nailed a long-range bomb from just outside the edge of the box. He nailed the gift bottom corner.
Tottenham advances to the round of sixteen on aggregate 3-2. Spurs won at White Hart Lane 2-1.
Newcastle edged FC Mentalist Kharkiv 1-0 in the Ukraine. Toons wins on aggregate 1-0 to advance to the round of sixteen in the Europa League. Shola Ameobi hit the PK in the 64th minute. The PK was set up when keeper Olexandr Goryainov tripped Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko in the box.
Chelsea and Sparta Prague were tied on away goals at one apiece. It sure looked like extra but the Blues scored just before the buzzer to level this puppy at one all. Liverpool on the other hand trailed 2-0 on aggregate heading into the match at Anfield. Liverpool won 3-1 but lost on away goal difference 1-0. It was tied on aggregate but Zenit scored the only away goal of the home at home series in the 19th minute. Hulk’s goal sent Zenit St. Petersburg to the round of sixteen.
Hulk’s goal was set up by a costly defensive error by Jamie Carragher. Carragher misplayed a simple ball and thus gift-wrapped the goal scored by Hulk. Can you say bye-bye Liverpool from the Europa League.
Luis Suarez led the Reds with the daily double but his heroics weren’t enough to overcome a 2-0 loss at Russians clubs house last Thursday.
Three out of the EPL clubs advance to the round of sixteen in the Europa League.

Europa League ? Ah well , it gives these teams a chance to add to their bottom lines . Not exactly on par with the Champions League , though !.

And that’s why UEFA Chairman Michel Platini wants to change the criteria for teams’ participation for all UEFA sanctioned club competitions . Much of that will be based upon the debt to asset ratio of teams , especially the big clubs of Europe . Far too many carrying way too much debt , which would crumble lesser teams .

I am looking at what will now happen in Spain , as that country now undergoes their austerity measures ( . Banks have capital asset issues and with so many of them now looking for their own bailout . Meanwhile , teams that have borrowed to the hilt , are now facing pressure to honor those loans. Hopefully , La Liga won’t be hit with a glut of teams having to declare bankruptcy . .

And along with that comes the fact the country is now borrowing more than ever , to simply stay afloat as they are still falling short in terms of the revenues that the IRS takes in . And if this sequester takes place then the country will be in for a really tough time .
Obama and his council of Economic Advisers as well Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke are so damn “clueless ” as it relates to the economy . Their idea to deal with it all , is to simply throw sh#t up against a wall as an idea and then work with whatever sticks as an exercise .
Barack Obama and Energy Secretary Dr Stephen Chu have still to apologize for the Solyndra ” fiasco ” that saw $500 million of taxpayers’ monies sunk into a company where its directors were defrauding the public , and these morons (government Dept of Energy) were so gullible that they failed to offer any oversight as to how that money was being used . And that is something that we have never had from any Presidential administration over the last three decades at least . It doesn’t matter who is in office , be it a Democrat or Republican , as they are both as conceited, and as corrupt as the other !
No one has been indicted by the US Justice Department for this Solyndra mess, even with the executives from the company having given subpoenaed testimony before Congress (Senate Commerce Committee ) with many of them pleading the fifth against self incrimination. So all of these lame as$ed Liberals and Conservatives can stop it with their bull#hit , that one side over the other , has the nation’s best interests at heart , as it all comes down to self preservation and nothing else beyond that !

The country has been broke for years and it also bereft of intelligence at all levels of government ! Obama much like his predecessors in recent years chose not to deal with the issues while the a$s wipes on both sides of the political aisle merely buy into all of the bull$hit espoused . The US Congress simply doesn’t know the meaning of restraint at all . The sequester came into being because the 535 shi#heads voted into law as putting a Band Aid on a gaping gunshot wound that is still hemorrhaging so much blood .
